Activities
The EducationCity.com highly engaging activities, are interactive in nature, and use positive reinforcement and reward mechanisms to teach and encourage effort and achievement respectively. The animated activities cover English, Maths, Science, French, German and Spanish, with all activities mapped to the learning objectives in place in England and Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
They target specific learning objectives, that are attainable yet challenging, age and grade-appropriate and support all the main learning styles using colour, sound, text, audio commentary, animated graphics and interactivity, to appeal to the widest possible range of users.
TESTS
The TESTS module, which aims to replicate the Mental Maths, Paper A and Paper B sat at Key Stage 2 (Year 6), provides children with practice SATS test papers for them to sit in simulated exam conditions. ‘Tests’ has been written by educationalists to cover National Curriculum (NC) levels two to five. Attainment target level descriptors from the NC and the National Numeracy Strategy are used to ensure each question is pitched at the right level and that it covers the correct content. Content is created using example material provided by the QCA with voice-overs to support a range of learning styles.
Topic Filter
The most effective way of finding appropriate activities for your child is by using the Topic Filter located in the top left corner of each subject page.
The Topic Filter allows you to select a topic that you wish your child to cover so that the screen will then only show activities related to that topic giving you even more valuable time on the resource.
Curriculum Map
The Curriculum map allows parents to identify the activities which target the specific learning objective they are looking to address.
